After tapping on a Tab to be displayed, the fields associated with the Tab are displayed in the Field List section of the mobile device screen as pictured below.
The list of fields is determined by the information that is sent from the VAluePRO Standard Edition.
Note: The number of fields and order in which they are displayed can be amended by the Master user for your company.
Entering Data
The fields fall into 2 categories, ones where the keyboard is used to enter data and ones where data is entered by using a standard iOS screen widgets (for Example Date selectors, Sliders, Tapping on Table entries etc).
When entering data there is toolbar at the bottom of the screen that allows you to switch between tabs and buttons to move between fields.
The left and right arrow buttons move to the previous or next field.
Tapping on a tab will change the details of what is displayed, the Tabs that can be displayed are Field Details, Audio, Scribbles, Photos, Videos.
Field Types
There are various field types that can be displayed in the iOS App each is detailed below.
Single Select
This field type allows you select a single value, selecting a different value will deselect the previous value.
Single Select Plus Lookup Values
This field allows you to select a single value or type in a user defined value.
If a user defined value is entered then this takes precedence over any selection from the table.
If a selection is made from a table then the user defined value is removed.
Free Text
This field type allows basic entry of text with the on screen keyboard.
Free Text plus Insert Lookup Values
This field allows the user to enter text.
Tapping on one of the List Items will append the text of the selected Item to the existing free format text.
Multi Select
This field allows for selection of multiple values.
Once selected, tapping on the item again will deselect the item.
Free Text plus Multi Select Lookup Values
This field types allows entry of Free Text plus multiple selections from a list of items.
If an item is already selected, tapping on it again will deselect it.
Checkbox
This type of field can have one of two values Yes or No.
Yes/No/Unknown
This field can take one of three values, Yes, No or “Unknown”.
If the field has a value of Yes or No then to set to Unknown tap the Clear button.
Conditional Question
This field type allows entry of a Yes or No value.
If the Value is set to “No” then a free text area is displayed where text may be entered.
Date
This field allows the selection a date using the standard iOS date selection mechanism. It is also possible to set the date to unknown by selecting the ‘No Date" button.
Date and Time
This field type allows the entry of both a date and time. By default the date is initially displayed. The date is selected using a standard iOS Date selection Mechanism.
To enter the time, select the “Time” button.
Use the Time scroll wheel to select a time.
Currency
This field allows you to enter a currency value using a custom keyboard.
Tapping the "C" key will clear the number.
Square Meters
This field allows entry of a number of square meters using a custom keyboard.
Tapping the “C” key will clear the number.
Number
This field type allows the user to enter a number into the field using a custom keyboard.
Tapping the “C” key will clear the number.
Number as Slider
This field type allows the entry of a number using a slider. It is also possible to set a threshold value that when exceeded a free format text field becomes available for free text input.
Built About / Additions About
This field allow you to enter a year for this field type.
The label can be changed by tapping on the label, this brings up a selection of possible labels.
Percentage
This field type allows the entry of percentage field.
The entry of this field type is similar to entering numbers but has a few extra shortcuts.
The +/- button changes the sign of the percentage field.
Tapping on one of the entries in the table view changes the current number to the value tapped (note that sign of the number is not changed).
Year
This field allows the entry of a year.
This field type is similar to the Number field Type.
Pressing 19 will insert the digits 1 and 9 into the field.
Pressing 20 will insert the digits 2 and 0 into the field.
The field will only allow 4 digits.
SubObjects
SubObjects are a way to allocate multiple instances of a Area of Room to a job, a good example of a subObject would be a Bedrooms.
Each subObject acts like a Tab and has a list of fields just like a normal Tab.
You may have as many subObjects as you require each of which will have the same fields but the fields may have different values.
If you have multiple subObjects that resemble each other it is possible to clone one subObject to create a duplicate. To do this, edit the subObject you wish to duplicate, then tap the “Clone” button at the top right of the screen.
This will create a new subObject and duplicate all its values into the newly created subObject.
By default, when a new subObject is created it is given a default title followed by a number that is incremented for each subObject of that type created.
