Overview
The Work In Progress tab is usually only visible for user accounts with Master and Admin account status enabled, however the menu and tab security in each ValuePRO application can be modified and this tab could be made available to user accounts with Valuer account status. Pictured below is the landing page for when a Master and Admin user logs into the application.
This page is used by the Admin users as the main page to access jobs list for Valuers, any newly created jobs that are to be assigned to a Valuer, new fax and email requests and any quotation requests.
The lists that are available on this page are covered in more detail below.
List Views
The list views on this page are expandable and collapsible. They allow the user to quickly find any current job data that the require in the one place.
Depending on the status/due date and time of the job, the text of the job item in the list may be colour coded. The colours that are used on this page can be controlled using three settings:
- Black Colour - This is the default colour for all jobs that are not yet due;
- Job Due Today Color - The default colour for this setting is blue. This colour is applied to a job in the list if the inspection for the job is due today;
- Job Overdue Color - The default colour for this setting is red. This colour is applied to a job in the list if the inspection for the job is past due;
- Job Unprocessed Color - The default color for this setting is green. This colour is applied to a job in the list if the job has not had an inspection appointment setup yet.
The list views are available in the following order:
- Latest News;
- New Faxes Received;
- New Emails Received;
- New Voice Mails Received;
- New Job Requests from Public Website;
- New Job Requests from Registered Clients;
- Pending Acceptance of Quotations;
- New Manually Entered Job Requests and;
- Allocated Job Requests.
1. Latest News
If the Display News Articles on Current Jobs setting turned on, this section will be visible on the Work In Progress tab if a news item has been sent into ValuePRO. This section has a bold yellow background to make it obvious to the user that there is an important news item that needs to be read.
This section is used to present a list of any news items to ValuePRO users. News items can be emailed into the list by sending the news item to news@[your ValuePRO company domain].com.
The news service in ValuePRO will monitor this mailbox and once an email is received, it will be automatically processed and placed into the news list.
News items can be read by clicking on the item from the list. If the news item has any attachments, preview thumbnails will appear when the mouse hovers over the news item in the list.
Once the user has read the news item, it will be marked as read and, if there are no other news items in the list, ValuePRO will hide the Latest News list header. If the user has not marked the news item as read, it will remain on the user's Work In Progress page until the number of days has exceeded the number of days setup in the Days to Show News Headlines setting.
All read news items will still be available via the Offices | News tab in ValuePRO.
2. New Faxes Received
If faxes have been setup to be redirected into ValuePRO and the Show Faxes/Emails on Work In Progress Tab setting is turned on, this section will be visible on the Work In Progress tab if a new fax has been received in ValuePRO. If there are no new or unread faxes, this section will be hidden.
This section is used to present a list of any new and unread faxes that have been received. Users can click on the item from the list to read the fax and determine the action that will need to be taken by either assigning the fax to an existing job, using the fax to create a new job or simply marking the fax as read so it can be removed from the list. When the mouse hovers over the fax item in the list, preview thumbnails will appear.
This section is to be used in conjunction with the Fax Center | Inbox tab.
The columns in the list are setup to trigger different functions when clicked which are outlined below:
- Client/Organisation column - If the fax number that the fax was received from matches the fax number of an existing client, the application will display the name of the client in this column and when clicked, the Client Card window will be opened. If no existing client is found, the application will instead display the text Not Known, click here to add, which can be clicked to create a new Client Card in the application with the senders fax number. Any future faxes from this fax number will be associated with this client;
- Read column - Ticking the checkbox in this column will automatically mark the fax as read and remove it from the list of unread faxes;
- Junk column - Ticking the checkbox in this column will flag the fax as junk;
- All Other columns - Clicking on any other column apart from the Client/Organisation, Read and Junk columns in the list will trigger the View Fax card to open.
3. New Emails Received
If emails have been setup to be forwarded into ValuePRO and the Show Faxes/Emails on Work In Progress Tab setting is turned on, this section will be visible on the Work In Progress tab if a new email has been received in ValuePRO. If there are no new or unread emails, this section will be hidden.
This section is used to present a list of any new and unread emails that have been received. Users can click on the item from the list to read the email and determine the action that will need to be taken by either assigning the email and/or it's attachments to an existing job, using the email and/or it's attachments to create a new job or simply marking the email as read so it can be removed from the list. When the mouse hovers over the email item in the list, preview thumbnails will appear.
This section is to be used in conjunction with the Email Center | Inbox tab.
The columns in the list are setup to trigger different functions when clicked which are outlined below:
- Client/Organisation column - If the email address that the email was received from matches the email address of an existing client, the application will display the name of the client in this column and when clicked, the Client Card window will be opened. If not existing client is found, the application will instead display the text Not Known, click here to add, which can be clicked to create a new Client Card in the application with the senders email address. Any future emails from this email address will be associated with this client;
- Read column - Ticking the checkbox in this column will automatically mark the email as read and remove it from the list of unread emails;
- Junk column - Ticking the checkbox in this column will flag the email as junk;
- All Other columns - Clicking on any other column apart from the Client/Organisation, Read and Junk columns in the list will trigger the View Email card to open.
4. New Voice Mails Received
If voice mail message have been setup to be diverted into ValuePRO and the Display Voice Mail on Current Jobs setting is turned on, this section will be visible on the Work In Progress tab if a new voice mail has been received in ValuePRO. If there are no new or unheard voice mail messages, this section will be hidden.
This section is used to present a list of any new and unheard voice mail files that have been received. Users can click on the item from the list to list to the voice mail and determine the action that will need to be taken by either assigning the voice mail to an existing job, using the voice mail to create a new job or simply marking the voice mail as heard so it can be removed from the list.
5. New Job Requests from Public Web Site
If a public website is available for clients to enter new job information in a form and the Show Web Site Orders in Current Jobs setting is turned on, this section will be visible on the Work In Progress tab and the jobs entered by new clients that are not yet allocated to a Valuer will appear in this section in a list view. If there are no jobs from new clients, this section will be hidden.
Admin users are then aware that the source of the job was from the public website and go through any internal workflow steps required for the job. For example, staff may be required to review the information and contact the client to request additional information that may not have been collected on the website.
The columns in the list are setup to trigger different functions when clicked which are outlined below:
- Analysis column - Clicking on the Analysis column of an item in the list will trigger the Analysis window to appear. From here, the job analysis details can be edited;
- Status column - Clicking on the Status column of an item in the list will trigger the Job History window to appear. From here, the Job Status and Inspection windows can also be accessed;
- All Other columns - Clicking on any other column apart from the Analysis and Status columns in the list will trigger the Job card to open. From here, the job details can be edited;
6. New Job Requests from Registered Clients
ValuePRO offers an additional feature that provides a separate client portal access log in for your existing clients. If the client portal is enabled and made available for existing clients to submit new jobs and the Show Web Site Orders in Current Jobs setting is turned on, this section will be visible on the Work In Progress tab. The jobs entered by existing clients that are not yet allocated to a Valuer will appear in this section in a list view. If there are no jobs from existing clients, this section will be hidden.
Clients with access to this portal can log into a ValuePRO public facing website with email and password credentials that are enabled for them in your ValuePRO application, specifically on the client card.
Clients can then log in with these details and view the status of existing jobs or create new jobs directly into ValuePRO application.
Admin users are then aware that the source of the job was from the client portal and go through any internal workflow steps required for jobs sourced through this portal.
If the client uploaded photos through the client portal, the photo thumbnails will appear when the mouse hovers over the job in the list.
The columns in the list are setup to trigger different functions when clicked which are outlined below:
- Analysis column - Clicking on the Analysis column of an item in the list will trigger the Analysis window to appear. From here, the job analysis details can be edited;
- Status column - Clicking on the Status column of an item in the list will trigger the Job History window to appear. From here, the Job status and Inspection windows can be accessed;
- All Other columns - Clicking on any other column apart from the Analysis and Status columns in the list will trigger the Job card to open. From here, the job details can be edited;
7. Pending Acceptance of Quotations
This section is used to present a list quotation job requests to ValuePRO users, specifically jobs with a status of Pending Acceptance of Quotation, Quote Requested or Quote Request Declined.
The list will contain both quotation job requests that have been manually entered and quotation requests that have been received from LIXI partners (eg: VMS or Valex).
If photos have been uploaded into the job, the photo thumbnails will appear when the mouse hovers over the job in the list.
The columns in the list are setup to trigger different functions when clicked which are outlined below:
- Job Number column - Clicking on the Job Number column of an item in the list will trigger the Print Report window to appear and automatically generate a report for the job using the report template setup on the job card;
- Analysis column - Clicking on the Analysis column of an item in the list will trigger the Analysis window to appear. From here, the job analysis details can be edited;
- Status column - Clicking on the Status column of an item in the list will trigger the Job History window to appear. From here, the Job Status and Inspection windows can be accessed;
- All Other columns - Clicking on any other column apart from the Job Number, Analysis and Status columns in the list will trigger the Job card to open. From here, the job details can be edited;
8. New Manually Entered Job Requests
This section is used to present a list of new job requests that have not yet been allocated to a Valuer and require attention from an Admin user.
The list will contain both new job requests that have been manually entered and new job requests that have been received from LIXI partners (eg: VMS or Valex).
If photos have been uploaded into the job, the photo thumbnails will appear when the mouse hovers over the job in the list.
The columns in the list are setup to trigger different functions when clicked which are outlined below:
- Job Number column - Clicking on the Job Number column of an item in the list will trigger the Print Report window to appear and automatically generate a report for the job using the report template setup on the job card;
- Analysis column - Clicking on the Analysis column of an item in the list will trigger the Analysis window to appear. From here, the job analysis details can be edited;

9. Allocated Job Requests
This section is used to present a list of existing job requests that have already been allocated to a Valuer. The jobs in this section are by default grouped together by Valuer, however the page filters can be used to group the jobs in this section by client instead.
The list will contain both jobs that have been manually entered and jobs that have been received from LIXI partners (eg: VMS or Valex).
If photos have been uploaded into the job, the photo thumbnails will appear when the mouse hovers over the job in the list.
The columns in the list are setup to trigger different functions when clicked which are outlined below:

Page Buttons
This section explains the functions for each of these buttons:
1. Expand All Button
Clicking on this button will expand all the list views on this page.
2. Collapse All Button
Clicking on this button will collapse all the list views on this page.
3. Export To Excel Button
Clicking on this button will export the list of jobs on this page to Excel.
Page Filters
The Work In Progress page has a selection of filters available to filter and sort the jobs on the page, making it easier to find a job in the list.
The filters available are:
- Order By filter - this groups the jobs displayed on this page by either Valuer Name or Client Name;
- Company filter - this filter is used to show jobs for all companies, one particular company or any jobs not allocated to a company. This filter only appears if the Show Company Selection Field on Work In Progress setting is turned on;
- Office filter - this filter is used to show jobs for all offices, one particular office or any jobs not allocated to an office. This is especially useful for users who work from two different offices. This filter only appears if the Show Office Selection Field on Work In Progress setting is turned on;
- Job Status filter - this filter is used to show jobs with all job statuses or jobs with a particular job status. This is useful for users who may want to see a list of all jobs where the job status is Valuer Allocated (new jobs assigned to a user) or Inspection Appointment Made (jobs which have an inspection date and time setup);
- Job View filter - this filter is used to turn on user comments or full job history information to display on the page. This is useful for users who work with admin staff members that leave user comments regarding the job in the job history;
- Job Type filter - this filter is used to show jobs with all job types or jobs of a particular job type only. This filter only appears if the Show Data Entry Template Filter on Current Jobs setting is turned on;
- Job State filter - this filter is used to show jobs for all states or jobs allocated to just one particular state. This is especially useful for users who work across two states. This filter only appears if the Show State Filter on Current Jobs setting is turned on;
- Show As filter - this allows the view of the page to be changed to show the jobs in either List view or plotted on a Map view.
