Sales Data Entry Templates - What do they do?
They form the data entry screen when you add or manage sale evidence properties to your job card under the sales tab.
What is available on default?
On default, you will have the ValuePRO Residential Sale DET set up with all the fields needed to edit your sales and that of imported data.
Recommendations
We suggest leaving this DET "as is" and limit editing only to order or add more fields. Do not remove fields unless you are sure you won't use them.
You only need one default sales template. Although you can have more, its more manageable if one default DET handles all your sales data.
Where are they located?
To view the Sales data entry template, navigate to Templates, Data Entry Templates, Toggle the drop down menu on the top left corner to Sales.
This will open a list of current sales data entry templates in your system (usually just 1). If you have never created your own, you will see the "ValuePRO Residential Sale". We include that DET with all systems rolled out as a base to start as it also contains the fields used in our integrations with data providers.
Click on the name to open the template card.
This DET editing card will open, same as for other DETs:
How do I make changes?
If you absolutely have to change it, we recommend you keep this template as is, as much as possible, for a sample & source of base fields and create a new one, or you can add in fields on this card to your requirements, but do not remove a field you're not sure.
Navigate to the tabs and fields to edit and add fields and so change what is displayed on your Sales data entry card the same way you would do in a job card DET.
How do I create another Sales template?
You can create your own Sales Data Entry Template from scratch. Click on "Add New Data Entry Template" button.
How does the finished screen look?
You can preview the sales template by going to the sales tab in your job card, and click on "Add new Sale" and add a new sale.
To see how it looks, click on one of the sales in the list.
Assigning a sales template on the new sales entry
Select the new template in the drop down list under the field Data Entry Template. (If you remembered to put it in! You didnt? No problem. Go back to your DET for your new sales DET and add in the field.)
Look at the fields and the tabs created. Keep making changes till it suits your business needs.
Some samples you can include:

- Sale Price - Shows the sale price.
- Site Area - Shows the site/land area.
- Lettable Area - Shows the living area of the building. This column only appears for jobs using a commercial Data Entry Template.

Make sure at a minimum, to include all the fields you refer to in your report template as well.
In this sample, the Sales DET must include the Address, Sale Date, Site Area, Price, Comments and Comparison fields.
Tip: See editing a DET before you work on the sales templates.
Tip: Editing the Report template for sales has many aspects to consider. We have a sample file covering some of the basic features you can use.
Tip: The Data Entry Templates can have more fields than the Report Template, not the other way around. If you refer to a field in your RT, it should be in your DET or an error will show on the RT diagnostics.
