ValuePRO has pre-built and thoroughly tested procedures for importing your existing data from all published editions of PropertyPRO, including versions 1, 2, 200, and the web edition.
Our process is streamlined to receive your data in a single, reliable Microsoft Access (.MDB) file.
Your export method will depend on the version of PropertyPRO you are currently using.
For PropertyPRO 1.0 (MS Access-based)
Your data is already stored in the correct format. Simply locate and copy the file named PropertyPRO_be.mdb from your PropertyPRO server. We recommend zipping the entire folder where this file is located before sending it to us.
For PropertyPRO 2000 & SQL Server/MSDE-based Editions
Recommended Approach: Allow us to handle the data export for you. We can securely access your PropertyPRO server remotely using tools like Remote Desktop or LogMeIn to ensure a smooth and accurate transfer.
Alternative Approach (for IT Professionals): If remote access is not an option, please have a qualified IT consultant contact us for detailed instructions on the export process.
DIY Method (for Experienced MS Access Users): If you have administrative access to your PropertyPRO server and are experienced with MS Access, you can follow these steps to export the data yourself:
Create a New Database: Open MS Access on the server with administrator privileges and create a new, empty database.
Import Tables (ODBC Connection):
Go to File → Get External Data → Import Tables.
In the file prompt, change the file type to ODBC Data Sources.
In the pop-up, go to the System Data Source tab and click New.
Select SQL Server from the list.
Configure Data Source:
Name the data source "PPro" and click Next.
Select your PropertyPRO server (e.g., \\SERVER\PROPERTYPRO).
Leave authentication as "Use Trusted Connection" and click Next.
In the Database drop-down, select PropertyPRO Data.
Click Next, test the connection, and then Finish.
Import Tables: Select the data source you just created and click OK. You will be presented with a list of tables. Select all tables prefixed with pp_... or prow_... (using Ctrl + A to highlight them all). Click OK and wait for the import to complete.
Import Images:
Repeat steps 2 and 3, but this time, name the data source "PProImages."
In the Database drop-down list, select PropertyPRO_images.
Repeat step 4 to import the image tables.
Compact & Repair: Go to Tools → Database Utilities → Compact and Repair Database to optimize the file size.
Finalize: Close and zip the MS Access file. It is now ready to be sent to ValuePRO.
