We begin by importing a snapshot of your data several weeks before your go-live date. This initial import allows you to review the data and confirm that everything has been transferred correctly. Once we have your approval, we focus on automating the import process so it can be run multiple times with ease.
From there, you can choose one of two import approaches:
Live Cut Over (Most Complex Approach)
This method offers an immediate, all-in-one transition.
How It Works We create a tested, "push-button" procedure to run the final data transfer overnight or over a weekend. After a scheduled cutoff time, we securely transfer your data and run the import. If the process is successful, your team can begin using ValuePRO the next morning with all of your legacy data immediately available. If an unrecoverable error occurs, we will reschedule the cut over.
Pros:
Instant Access: Users have access to all legacy data in ValuePRO from day one.
Immediate Identification: Problems and issues are identified quickly due to high user activity.
Cons:
High Pressure: It requires after-hours support and has high expectations.
Complex: Technical challenges and unforeseen issues can complicate the process.
Potential for Inaccuracy: Some job statuses may not translate perfectly due to differences between systems.
Ideal For:
Large firms with hundreds of active jobs that require a rapid transition.
Staged Cut Over (Recommended Approach)
This is the simplest and lowest-risk approach, designed for a stress-free transition.
How It Works After our initial data import, you begin using ValuePRO for all new jobs while continuing to use your old system to close out any in-progress jobs. You will temporarily operate with two systems, each with a clear, defined purpose. Once all jobs in your old system are complete, you send us the remaining "gap data," which we then import over your live ValuePRO production system.
Pros:
Simple & Low Stress: The transition is easier to manage with less pressure.
Less Downtime: No interruption to either your old or new system.
Low Impact: Any import mistakes have minimal impact on your business operations.
Cons:
Temporary Dual-System Use: Users will need to switch between two systems until all old jobs are closed.
